WHY I'M DOING IT
Each day in February I'm hitting the water for SurFebruary and raising funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. That’s a pretty big statistic. The good news is that we can make a tangible impact on how we treat cancer by contributing to innovative cancer research that benefits us all.
It only takes a minute to donate and anything you can give (no matter how big or small) will go a long way to helping people with cancer and their families.

Why I'm participating
Sunday 4th FebAs a participant in SurFebuary I am committing to jump in the ocean every day. 🌊💪
This is particularly meaningful to me as I lost my mum to cancer almost 7 years ago and my dad was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. He has been a way too frequent visitor of Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and has very much benefited from their wonderful care and advancements in medicine. I am also participating in memory of other family members and friends who we have lost to cancer. 😢💞
I am participating with the Picaluna Funerals team, the wonderful company I am proud to work with as a Funeral Director and Celebrant. I am so proud of the work we do, guiding people through some of the worst days of their lives and honouring their loved one with a beautiful, meaningful and healing farewell. 🩵
Whilst jumping in the ocean every day is part of my regular routine, I am sometimes guilty of giving it a miss if the waves are a little too big (like this morning) or there is too much seaweed. I am enjoying the challenge of jumping in, no matter what! 🏊♀️🏄♀️
