WHY I'M DOING IT
Each day in February I'm hitting the water for SurFebruary and raising funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
I can vouch first hand for the amazing place Chris O’Brien’s Lifehouse is having had a sudden admission late last year. Thankfully my outcome was positive but I could see the amazing impact every aspect of the clinic/hospital and support services had on those who were not so lucky as I.
So for 29 days, rain, hail or shine I will swim, paddle or surf (at least give surfing a go!) and do my best to raise as much money as possible. While the goal I have set is small, my hope is to exceed it. Challenge me to stand up on a surf board ;D !
The impact of cancer is immeasurable and the fight is immense. The combat starts with research into prevention and treatment and is helped by programs that assist and manage the impact of cancer.
The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. We can make a tangible impact on how we treat cancer by contributing to innovative cancer research that benefits us all.
Let’s ’Choose hope’!
Please take the time to donate and anything you can give (no matter how big or small) will go a long way to helping people with cancer and their families.
Thank you, I really appreciate your support.
See you in the water!
