WHY AM I DOING IT? Glad you asked! ;)

Each day of February, I'm hitting the water for SurFebruary to try and raise funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.

The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. That’s a pretty big statistic. 

As some of you may know, my little brother, BJ, went through hell during an amazingly tough battle with a variety of different cancers. He will wear the horrific scars for the rest of his life, both inside and out, but at least he is luckily living to tell the tales,  continuing to use them as inspiration, made possible only due to all of his extreme strengths.

Unfortunately, my step 'DAD' David (pictured with our girls), was struck down with the 'F'ing C' last year and wasnt so lucky.

It took him from us faster than anyone could have imagined! Only 4 WEEKS prior to this, albeit receiving chemo, he was walking 18 holes of golf, numerous times per week, (he was a very keen and great golfer!). He will be loving it up there in golf heaven right now, now the pain has gone! 

I miss him everyday!

Also, if that wasnt enough! NYE 2024, we had to say our last goodbye to my step 'MUM', Erana. After an extended battle with multiple cancers, she left peacefully with not much fanfare, very unlike the majority of her life that she lived to the full as a legendary, iconic, mentor to so many lucky people.
