WHY I'M DOING IT
I'm delighted to be participating in 2024 Surfebruary swim challenge. Each day in February I'll be hitting the water for SurFebruary and raising funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. That’s a pretty big statistic. The good news is that we can make a tangible impact on how we treat cancer by contributing to innovative cancer research that benefits us all.
As I swim 1km each day in February my inspiration will be 12 year old beautiful, brave Sophia Allen.
At the end of 2021, Sophia was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Her battle continued in 2022 when she was diagnoed with Leukemia. Sophia was finally able to return to school in 2023 being in remission. This year she has defied all odds starting High School. May God's richest blessings be hers as she continues her life journey filled with gratitude.
It only takes a minute to donate and anything you can give (no matter how big or small) will go a long way to helping people with cancer and their families.
