WHY IM DOING IT
Each day in February I'm hitting the water for SurFebruary and raising funds for cancer research at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
The reality is that one in two of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime. Myself and my grandma being two of the billions of people. I suffered from a cancerous tumour in my appendix 4 years ago, that same year I starting really getting into surfing. Luckily enough after surgery I was cancer free, and soon I'll be cleared as 'out of the woods'. Sadly my grandma fought and lost her battle to colon cancer in 2022. She had a big impact on my life and always reminded people of good things rather than the bad, her high spirits were contagious.
Although a lot of bad comes from cancer, the good news is that we can make a impact on how we treat cancer in the future by pitching in and helping fund innovative cancer research in how to treat patients at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse.
It only takes a minute to donate and anything you can give (no matter how big or small) will go a long way to helping people with cancer and their families.
